What more can a fan ask?
After such a terrible season last year, the captain promised us a better performance. And we believed him. We believed the team would bounce back.
What a season it turned out to be. Not playing at home, a break in the middle, moving the tournament over to a foreign country, wins, losses, hits, misses, disappointments, revelations, dropped catches, centuries, ducks, splendid bowling, bad bowling, orange cap and birthday celebrations. There was even time for a marriage proposal (She said Yes!). It was such a ride.
How many nervous moments did we have to undergo, how many disappointments and how much joy. All leading to a splendid climax. What a performance in the play offs to top it all.
The captain reminded us to be humble and displayed that humility in his winning speech too. No controversies, no nonsense. There was a mission and it was a success.
